Charles O. Rau Jr., 76 years, of Orefield, died Thursday, March 9, 2006 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Frances M. (DeLong) Rau. The couple celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary February 14. Born in Upper Macungie Township on July 22, 1929, Charles was the son of the late Charles O. Sr. and Rosa M. (Kramer) Rau. He was employed by South Whitehall Township as a truck driver for 26 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
Survivors: Wife; daughters, Debra A. Brown and her husband, David, of Orefield and Diane M. Keshel and her husband, Raymond, of New Tripoli; brother, Melvin E. Rau of Slatington; sisters, Arlene M. Stauffer of Schnecksville and Dorothy E. Kistler of Fogelsville; four grandchildren, a great-grandson.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Donald W. Hayn officiating. Call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
