He was married to Anna M. Burk of Des Moines, Iowa December 25, 1889. To them three children were born, two daughters, Stella Irene and Helen Blanche, who died in infancy. Paul Leroy their only son was a World War I soldier, stationed at Camp Dodge at the time of his death, November 18, 1918. Mrs Bass died at her home north of Boone, Iowa on February 18, 1937.
