Dudley Chipley Barrow, who came
Lowville last January and became
associated with Albert A. Copeley in
the general insurance business, died
of pneumonia Friday morning at his
home on Waters Terrace after a
week's illness. Mr. Barrow was a
man of pleasing personality, with aggressive
business qualifications, and
made many admiring friends in this
community who deeply sympathize
with the family in their sudden bereavement.
Mr. Barrow was born July 23, 1888,
in Geneva, Ala., a son of Capt. and
Mrs. W. G. Barrow, now of Pensacola,
Fla. In 1911 he became business
manager of the Pensacola Journal,
with which, he was associated
until the outbreak of the war, when
he enlisted and served 15 months in
the army.
Following the close of the war, Mr.
Barrow entered the insurance business
in Hoosick Falls, this state,
where he was located two years,
when, with the consolidation of the
Pensacola Journal with another
paper, he became vice-president and
manager of the Pensacola News-
Journal Company, which position he
held until coming to Lowville.
Mr. Barrow was a member of the
Pensacola Presbyterian church; the
Masonic fraternity, being a 32d degree
Scotish Rite. Mason, and also the
B. P. O. Elks. He was a member of
the Pensacola Country Club, the
Pensacola Yacht Club, the Kiwanis
and American Legion and affiliated
with Lowville Post, American Legion,
when he came here. In 1923 he married
Miss Mildred Oatey, of Hoosick
Falls, who survives besides his parents
and six brothers. Raymond A.,

Brief services were conducted at
the late home of the deceased on
Waters' Terrace at 9:30 a. m. Sunday
by Rev. A. Willis Ebersole, members,
of Lowville Post, American Legion,
acting as bearers and escort. The body
was taken to Hoosick Falls, where the
funeral services proper were held
from the Presbyterian church at
10:30 a. m. Monday, with interment
at Maple Grove cemetery in that
place. The bearers at Hoosick Falls
were Forest White, Willis Thorpe,
Sylvester Scott, Dean Brown, Willis
Jones and W. E. Robson.
