The first child (of three) born to Raleigh Holmes & Carolyn (Taylor) Thurwachter in Waukesha, Wisconsin. His younger brother James died as an infant in Dec. 1927.

He never married. He served in the Wisconsin Cavalry during World War II (1944-1948).

He was only 32 years old when he died (cause unknown). Survived by his parents, his sister Carol (Claude) Amos (b. 1931) and his nephews Claude Raleigh and James Raleigh Amos and his infant niece Jean Amos.
