A. L. Hardee, Attorney in Florence, Dies

Florence-A. L. Hardee, 76, died Thursday in a local hospital.

Funeral will be at 5 p.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Waters Funeral Home.

He was born in Lowrys, a son of the late A. M. and Frances Guy Hardee, both of Chester County. He was a senior partner in the law firm of Willcox, Hardee, Houck, Palmer, and O'Farrell. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Willcox Bible Class, served as superintendent of the Sunday School and also as an elder. He was a member of the Florence Rotary Club, S.C. Bar Assn., American Bar Assn., the Plain Dealers Literary Club, the Florence Country Club and the Board of Directors of Peoples Federal Savings and Loan Assn.

Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Nell Covington Hardee of Florence; a daughter, Mrs. H. Clayton Daniel of Monroe; a son, W. Covington Hardee of New York CIty; two sisters, Mrs R. R. Hall of Summerville and Mrs, J. W. Lenoir of Augusta, Ga.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
