Sidney "Sid" Edward Ables was born 31 Dec 1905 in Vanburen County, Arkansas; the son of James Henry and Minnie Emma (Wylie) Ables.

Sid was united in marriage 29 Nov 1929 with Loretta Chastain; daughter of Columbus Omstead and Sussie (Buchannan) Chastain.

Sid and Loretta were the parents of seven children: Joyce, JoAnn, Stella, Leo Eugene, Earnest, Wayne, and Howard.

Sid passed away 02 Aug 1987 in Ada, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years. He was laid to rest in Lehigh Cemetery, Lehigh, Coalgate, Oklahoma.
