Phyllis Mae Zirbel, 81, of Hamilton, Montana, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at her home. She was born June 4, 1928, in Wrightstown, Wisconsin, to the late Joseph and Constance Geniesse Berger. She earned a bachelor's degree in primary education from the College of St. Katherine's in St. Paul, Minnesota. Phyllis married Gerald Wayne Zirbel on June 7, 1952. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church craft group and St. Francis Ladies. She served as president of Camp Fire Girls in Detroit Lakes, Minn., and was a member of the Literary Book Club and an avid bridge player.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, and her parents. Surviving include her children, Mike Zirbel of Riverton, Wyo., Patricia Busch and husband Carl of Rogers, Minn., Jennifer Zirbel and husband Andy Little of Schenectady, N.Y., Sue Clarke and husband Larry Werth of Eagan, Minn., Chuck Zirbel and wife Debbie of Etoile, Texas, Fritz Zirbel and wife Laure of Detroit Lakes, Louie Zirbel and wife Eva of Post Falls, Idaho, and Christopher Zirbel of Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Shirley Saathoff and husband Bill of Peoria, Ill.; brothers, Joe Berger of Orange, Calif., and Andy Berger and wife Karen of Caldwell, N.J.; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
