South Sutton, NH - Elsie (Regan) Bailey, 86, of Blaisdell Lake, died Friday, February 3, 2012 at her daughter's home.
She was born in Boston, MA on August 23, 1925 the daughter of John E. and Elsie (Goudey) Regan. She graduated from Weymouth, MA High School in 1944 and from Colby Junior College in New London in 1946.
Elsie lived in Weymouth and Holbrook, MA before moving to South Sutton in 1979. She and her late husband owned and operated Bailey Cottages on Blaisdell Lake since 1951.
Family was everything to Elsie. She always enjoyed time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than to be in the company of her family. She had many hobbies including crafts, sewing, painting and cooking and always felt better in the company of her cats.
Her husband of 56 years, Richard C. Bailey, Sr., died in 2003. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Gail and Carl Olson of South Sutton, NH; a son and his wife, Richard C., Jr. and Kate Bailey, of Bow, NH; four grandchildren, Sheri and her husband, Stephen Valiquet, Ken and his wife, Tobyn Olson; Richard C. Bailey III and Sarah Bailey; three great grandchildren, Zachary, Stephen and Paige.
Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012 from 2-4 P.M. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at The First Baptist Church of Bradford, NH with The Rev. Lynne Hubley, pastor, officiating.Burial will be in Pond Cemetery, Bradford, NH in the spring.
