Mr. Richard Thomas Williams, 66, of 160 Snoozing Pines Lane, Aberdeen, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on January 11, 2012.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday January 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the VFW located at 615 South Page Street Southern Pines, North Carolina with Jimmy Carpenter officiating and military honors.

Mr. Williams was born on October 19, 1945 in Cheraw, South Carolina to Annie Mae Bullard and Claude Washington Williams.

He was a member of the United States Army for two years and a proud Vietnam Veteran.

Mr. Williams was a Law Enforcement Officer for twenty-four years for both the Moore County Sheriff's Department and the Southern Pines Police Department.

He was an active member of the VFW Post #7318 Southern Pines, North Carolina.

Mr. Williams is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Beverly Jones Williams, two daughters, Ashely Williams Wood of Carthage and Cari Williams of Pinebluff; two sons, Adam David Ritter of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Riley Joe Kimball of Cushing, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren; a large, loving family and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends immediately following the Celebration of Life at the VFW.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bill Cole Scholarship Fund c/o VFW Post #7318 - 615 South Page Street Southern Pines, North Carolina 28387.
