HARRIS PITTMAN
GREER, Apr. 20 -- (Special) -- Harris Pittman, 85, died at his home near Locust Hill Thursday night at 9:30 after declining health for several months. He had been confined to his bed for the past two months.
Mr. Pittman was a Confederate veteran and served the entire four years in the war between the states. He had made his home in the Locust Hill community for the past twenty years, and was well known.
He is survived by one sister Mrs. Louise Loftis of Easley; three sons, Lee Pittman of Greer, Vincent and Harford Pittman of Travelers Rest; three daughters, Mrs. Emma Cox of Greer, Mrs. Venie Center and Mrs. ____ Springfield, both of Travelers Rest, also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning from the Highland Baptist Church at 11 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. T.E. Reid, assisted by the Rev. William Wilson. Interment will follow in the family plot in the Church cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers, Earle Pittman, Edwin Pittman, Lushion Springfield, G.L. Center, Marshall Cox and Stanley Center.
