She was born Jan. 25, 1932, to Raymond Earl and Bernice Strickland Jarrett, both deceased. On March 21, 1952, she married her soul mate, Stanley Lilly (retired captain, Charleston Fire Department; deceased Aug. 10, 1992) and together they raised four children who are forever grateful for their nurturing and love.
Survivors include daughters, Karen and husband, Joe Coleman, of Scott Depot, W.Va., Cindy and husband, Johnnie Booth, of Dunbar, Jennifer Lilly of Given, W.Va.; son, Michael Lilly and wife, Teresa of Buffalo; grandchildren, Michelle Lilly at the Ohio State University School of Pharmacy, Columbus, Ohio, Christa Lilly at home in Buffalo, W.Va., Joshua Booth at home in Dunbar, JR Coleman of Goldtown, W.Va., Kristi Coleman of Hurricane, W.Va.; and her beloved dog, Mandy Der Schwatzjagger, now residing with her aunt Jenny in Given.
Eleanor was a 1950 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, past Worthy Advisor of Charleston Rainbow Girls, past Grand Chaplain of the State Assembly of Rainbow Girls, and a member of the North Charleston Baptist Church Choir, Prayer Chain captain, and WMU. She was a past employee of United Fuel Gas Co., Owens Illinois, and Blossom Dairy. She was also a former volunteer at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
Also preceding her in death were sisters, Barbara Ipock and Sue Jarrett Hopkins; and brothers, Rodney and Raymond Jr.
