Born Charles Orange Leonard, Dec. 20, 1906, at Murrell's Inlet, S.C. Worked as a boatman and motor ferry pilot in the Georgetown, S.C. area. Married Annie Inez Haselden Leonard, September 1930. Moved to Port Wentworth, Georgia (near Savannah) ca. 1941. Had four children: Charles Alford Leonard, Wanda Kelly Leonard, Sylvia Anne Leonard Butler, and Lynda Mel Leonard Simmons. Retired from Continental Can. Last residence was on Wilmington Island, near Savannah, Ga.
