Casket bearers will be Bruce VandenBos. Kirk Jensen, Kenny Dyk, Cleo Bultsma, Roland Bultsma and Ted Bultsma. Interment will be in the Platte City Cemetery with the Platte Funeral Chapel in charge of the arrangements.
Henry Bultsma was born on March 12, 1907 at Platte, S.D. to Tjeerd and Anna (Dyk) Bultsma. He was raised and received his education attending rural grade school.
Henry was married to Jessie DeBoer June 12, 1935 at her family's home at Platte. Together they have farmed in the Platte area until their retirement in 1974. They moved into Platte in 1987.
As an infant, he was baptized in the Platte Christian Reformed Church and later professed his faith. He has remained a faithful member until his death. Henry also served as an elder of his church. He also was township assessor, served on the township board, school board, was a 4-H leader, the county fair and telephone board for many years.
Henry A. Bultsma died Monday evening, March 5, 1990 at the Platte Community Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Jessie; his children Don and Louann Bultsma and John and Patricia Bultsma all of Sioux Falls [S.D.]; two grandchildren, Christopher and Daniel Bultsma; two sisters, Amy Bol of Denver, Colo. and Eunice Bultsma of Jenison, Mich., and many nieces and nephews.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, one son (Keith), a granddaughter (Rachelle); and three sisters (Flora, Helen and Jessie).
