Halsey Douglas Howell Sr., age 72, passed away February 4, 2012 in Pascagoula, MS. He was born on April 10, 1939 in Kreole, MS and was a longtime resident of Big Point, MS. He served his country proudly with the United States Air Force working as a the B-36 Bomber Mechanic. He spent most of his life working for Brown and Root Construction Company. He loved working with wood and the outdoors. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Scottish Rites with the De Ridder Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Ethel Howell and his brother Gerald Howell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie Howell of Big Point; two daughters, Sharon (Robert) Williams of Davenport, IA, and Becky (Mike) Jones of Summerdale, AL; and his son, Doug (Juleigh) Howell Jr. of Biloxi, MS. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday February 8,2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. The funeral service will be Thursday February 9, 2012 from the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in Greenwood cemetery in Summerdale, AL with Masonic graveside rites.
