Graduate of Quanah High School, Quanah, TX. He served in the Korean War as a medic in the United States Navy and later in the United States Marines. He worked at Dallas Semi-Conductor for a number of years. While living in the Dallas area, he was instrumental in the chartering of a bank, a high school and a church. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, coached peewee football and was a Boy Scout leader.

Services were held at the Grace Episcopal Church in Vernon TX with Father Jim Aveni officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Hughes, Carlos Flores, James R. Rine, Bryan Baxley, Chris Tacy and Lynn Shelton.
