Elmer Justin "Jim" Adams, 619 Helena Road, Clifton, died of natural causes Saturday in St. Mary's Hospital. He was 39.
Visitation will be until 6 p.m. today in the McLean Funeral Home chapel in Fruita. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the mortuary chapel with Reverend Joe Combs officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.
Mr. Adams was a transporter of mobile homes and a lifelong resident of Colorado. He was a resident of Clifton for 14 years.
He was born October 22, 1954, to Elmer James and Eva Purdee Adams in Grand Junction. He spent his childhood in the Grand Valley and graduated from Fruita Monument High School in Fruita.
He married JoAnna Combs on July 30, 1980, in Grand Junction. She survives. Mr. Adams loved to hunt, fish, and bowl.
Other survivors include a son and daughter, Justin Adams and Jessica Adams, both of the family home; his mother, Eva Engstrom of Belvidere, Illinios; his father and stepmother, Elmer James and Wilma Adams of Fruita; two brothers, Edward John Adams of Fruita, and Mike Adams of Delta; and two sisters, Regina Bidwell of Freeville New York, and Merlina Adams of Salt Lake City.
