Willene C. "W.C." Smith, a native of Fayette, and long time resident of Chickasaw, Ala., died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at a local hospital. Mr. Smith was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a U.S. Navy WWII veteran, former long time member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, and current member of Chickasaw First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Smith and Virginia Victoria Dennis Smith and three brothers, Roy Vick, Carlton Vick and Billy Dan Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret L. Smith; two daughters, Patsy H. (Larry) Holcomb and Debra S. Thomas, all of Chickasaw; two sons, John R. (Jamie) Smith of Fairhope and Stephen C. (Sherry) Smith of Heidleberg, Miss.; one sister, Christine Nason of Fayette; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
