OBITUARY OF JAMES H. ABRAMS ; (OTTUMWA COURIER)
DELTA --- James H. Abrams, 89, retired farmer, died at 1:40 p.m. Monday at his home in Delta. He had been in ill health several years and suffered a stroke Sunday afternoon.
The son of Miles and Eliza Ann Hamilton Abrams, he was born July 11, 1870, in Keokuk county near Hedrick, where he spent his early life. He retired from his farm five miles southwest of Delta about 13 years ago, and had since resided in Delta.
He was married December 23, 1896, to Lenna Dolton, who survives. Also surviving are a son Nolan of Delta; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Blom of Newton; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. There are five brothers; John of Highland Center, Arthur of Brookfield, Mo., Harry of Kirksville, Mo., George of Bakersfield, Calif., and Denver Abrams of Long Beach, Calif. Twin sons died in infancy. Three brothers, Harl, Lou and Robert also preceded him in death.
The service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Delta Methodist church, in chare of the Rev. William Richardson, pastor. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery at Hedrick. The body is at the Fremont Funeral chapel.
