Alice Irene Farris, 80, Lexington, Mo., died Oct. 2, 1993, at a hospital in Richmond. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gowing Chapel in Orrick, Mo.; burial in the Craven Cemetery, near Camden, Mo. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. Mrs. Farris was born in rural Ray County, Mo., and lived in Fleming, Mo., before moving to Lexington. She was a member of the Camden Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Clarence Marshall Farris, Richmond, and Sammy Vincent Farris and Michael Farris of Lexington; eight daughters, Betty Marie Heitman, Camden, Rebecca Ann Newsome, Orrick, Patricia Lou Marler, Kansas City, Newana Mae Menaugh and Rita Irene Campbell of Lexington, Mary Sue Smith, Richmond, Alice Arlene Bary, Independence, and Christa M. Palmer, Excelsior Springs; two brothers, Irvin Thomas Covey, Kansas City, and Marvin D. Covey, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Martha Lou Wyse, Excelsior Springs, and Lorene Covey, Richmond; 31 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
