In her will Cecilia made arrangements for a friend to see that she was buried next to her deceased husband George Dawes and to add her name and information to the monument already in place at his grave site, stating his burial site as the Dighton Cemetery, Dighton, Lane County, Kansas.
Her will names only one sibling - brother Thomas E. DeLong of Carrol, Wayne County, Nebraska who was to receive a small amount of money; the release of a mortgage to a friend; and a small amount to a friend to "repay him for the many jobs he did and "refused pay for". The rest of her estate, after all debts were paid, was to be given to St. Rose Hospital. After the sale of her farm and belongings and the other payments due were made a sum of $4,864.19 was sent to The Mother M. Swrafhine Wesenburg, President of St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend, Kansas. Cecilia expressed the hope that with this money a medical clinic or small hospital could be built in Dighton, Kansas, and hopefully, if that was not possible it be used to provide care for those who could not afford care otherwise.
