Mrs. Porado was born November 17, 1919, in Surry County, to Calvin Jex and Laura Ada Haynes Jones.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Howard Hein of Casper, WY; sons and daughters-in-law, Monroe Hiatt of Mount Airy, Dr. Stephen R. and Darlene Hiatt of Granite Quarry, and Dena Earhart of Waxhaw; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Judy Jones of Grantsville, UT.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Porado was preceded in death by her first husband, William Harvey Hiatt; her second husband, Ray Hawkins; her third husband, Michael J. Porado, Jr.; a son, Gregory Hiatt; and sisters, Margaret Kirkman and Ivie Tally.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 25, 2010, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Bishop David Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 to 1:45 in the Relief Society Room at the church.
