Charles Gillard Crocker was born on 3 Jul 1838 in Jacksonville, Morgan, Illinois. The Sampson Crocker family moved to Iowa in 1840 settling on a farm north of New London, Iowa. Charles Crocker married Sarah Ellen Snyder on
16 Dec 1866 in Pleasant Grove near Danville, Iowa.
Died: 9 Nov 1916 at the home of his daughter, Edith (Crocker) Hermann at 108 Gunnison St. in Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa. Charles was 78 years, 4 months, and 6 days old.
Charles Crocker was married to Sarah Ellen Snyder on Dec. 16, 1866, in Des Moines Co., Iowa near Danville, Iowa. 5 children were born to this union with one dying in infancy, Theodore Byron on Feb 26, 1869 (Born: Feb. 24, 1869--his grave not yet found).
The first 2 years of their marriage were spent on a farm near Middletown, Iowa. Then they moved to a farm northeast of Mount Union, Henry Co., Iowa--the farm was in the northwest corner of Des Moines Co., Iowa, in Washington Twp next to Henry county. They farmed there until the spring of 1904 when they moved to Mt. Union. Sarah died on April 30, 1908. They were members of the Methodist E. church in Mt. Union, Henry Co., Iowa. The funeral for Charles was held Nov. 12, 1916, from the Mt. Union Methodist church with the Rev. W. B. Ireland officiating. Interment was at Trinity cemetery.
