CLYDE -- Charles Duane Bennett, 74, died Friday March 5, 2004 at an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday March 7, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at the Clyde Church of Christ with Jim Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Clyde Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Clyde.

Mr. Bennett was born August 22, 1929 in McGregor, Tx to B.D. and Vera High Bennett. He graduated from McGregor High School. He married Lynda Bogard in Lamesa, Texas on July 3, 1952. They moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1963. He was a self- employed paint contractor for 55 years. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Clyde Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Lynda, of Clyde; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Jeannie Bennett of Brownfield, Mark and Nancy Bennett of Ft. Phantom, and Wes and Terrie Bennett of Abilene; one daughter, Roxanne Hello of Abilene; three sisters, Mary Ann Bennett and Chesterlene Holt, both of McGregor, Tx, and Joan Karr of Sulpulpa, OK, and seven grandchildren, Brandt Bennett, Stephanie Bennett, Matthew Bennett, Travis Bennett, Aaron Bennett, Rachael Bennett and Jon Weston Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ray and Nathan Bennett.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 6, 2004 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home.
