FITCHBURG -- Anita C. (DiMola) Glidden, 70, of 276 Lunenburg St., a retired photo finisher, died Thursday, Jan. 3, in Birchwood Care Center after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 47 years, Chester R. Glidden; a niece, Louise Chaffee of Templeton; a grandnephew and four grandnieces. A sister, Marie Savino of Fitchburg, predeceased her. She was born in Astoria, N.Y., daughter of Angelo and Louisa (Messa) DiMola, and lived most of her life in Fitchburg. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1949.
Mrs. Glidden was a photo finisher and union steward for Berkey Photo, later Color Craft, for 23 years, retiring in 1995. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony di Padua Church and a member and past commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 30.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, from Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. A calling hour is 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Birchwood Care Center, Activities Director, 1199 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
