Mrs. Covey, 79 Dies at Haskell
Haskell, March 6, Mrs. John M. Covey, 79 Haskell resident since 1930, died in a hospital here Friday after a long illness.
Funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church here. The Rev. M.D. Rexrode, pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. W.D. Malone, O'Brien Baptist minister, and the Rev. C. Jones, pastor of the Haskell Fundamental Baptist Church. Burial will be in the O'Brien cemetery.
Born May 10, 1873 in Upsher County, she was married to Mr. Covey of Hamilton County in 1898. The couple moved to Haskell from Shackelford County. He died in 1940.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. E.D. Williams of Henrietta, Mrs. N.N. Tedford of Clyde and Mrs. E.A. Williams of Haskell; four sons, C.G. Covey of Haskell, F.M. Covey of Lubbock, O.S. Covey of O'Brien, and John Covey of O'Brien; a sister, Mrs. J.B. Carter of Gorman; a stepdaughter Mrs. E.W. Flowers of Sequin, and two stepsons, Joe and Lee Covey of California.
