"Following a stroke at 4 o'clock Wednesday morning of last week Mrs. MaDora Cornell died at the same hour this week Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dan Pashley, with whom she had resided the past year. Last rites will be held from the Tillapaugh Funeral home Saturday at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. D. M. Corkwell of the Methodist church of which she was a member over fifty years, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. Alton Parker of Starkville, grandson of the deceased. Mrs. Cornell was born August 8, 1858, at Chaseville, daughter of Charles and Abigale Chase, and she was married to E. E. Cornell in 1873. He died May 7, 1941. Most of her life was spent in Schenevus, where she leaves many friends. All her eight children survive: Claude and Percy Cornell and Mrs Pashley of Schenevus; Mrs. Lula C. Walker of Oneonta; Harvey Cornell of Oneida; Herbert and Leslie Cornell of New York; and Mrs. William Parker of Utica. There also are: seven grandchildren, Ernest S. Walker of Oneonta; Mrs. Fred Hungerford, of Walton; the Rev. Alton Parker, of Starkville, Harland Parker of Utica, Leslie Cornell, Jr., of Detroit, Michigan, Philip Cornell of New York and Mrs. Ralph Dutcher of Schenevus; and five great grandchildren, Alice and Beverley Hungerford of Walton, William Parker of Starkville, and two sons of Leslie Parker, Jr., in Detroit."
