WAYNESVILLE -- Robert David Misner, 84, an electronic scientist who served as a US Naval Officer during World War II, followed by a 50-year career with the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) passed away Aug. 28, 2004, at Cameron Glen Nursing Home, Weston[Reston], Va. He was born in Waynesville, on May 1, 1920, a son of Oscar Leonidas and Elizabeth Clara Nyren Misner. Robert Misner was a graduate and valedictorian of Waynesville Township High school. He later received a physics degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and George Washington University.

Robert David was a son of Oscar Leonidas and Elizabeth Clara (Nyren) Misner. He married Virginia Bernice Fuehrer on June 4, 1949 in Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois. She preceded him in death, in 1999 after 50 years of marriage.
