Laurence was the son of the late Peter and Anne Mary (Rau) Schumacher and was a 1933 graduate of Beal City High School. He married the former Ellen Hopp November 27, 1947 in Munger. She survives him. Mr. Schumacher was a Dairy Farmer in the Munger area all of his life and was a member of the Trinity-St. James Lutheran Church in Munger. Surviving in addition to his wife Ellen are his two sons and their spouses, Larry and Sharon Schumacher and William and Pamela Schumacher, all of Munger and his four grandchildren, Justin Schumacher and his wife Monica of Saginaw, Ryan Schumacher and Kristin Schumacher and Kayleen Schumacher, all of Munger. Also surviving is his sister Edna Willette of Bay City and his sisters-in-law, Laura Schumacher and Evelyn Schumacher, both of Bay City, and Catherine Schumacher of Lansing.
