John was the son of Thomas and Rebecca Jane Comley Carrier. About 1897 he married his first wife Liza Hood and they had two children, Fannie and Arthur. Liza died in 1901 and about 1906 he married Susan Weaver and they had three children, Joseph, John and Elizabeth. For many years John was a farmer. After the family moved to Louisville he was employed as an installer for the water works and by the time of the 1940 Census he was a street salesman for an ice cream company. John died of respiratory arrest and pneumonia.
