Raymond AIN Dies Suddenly

Raymond C. AIN, 78, former Fairfield resident, died suddenly Monday at 10:30 a.m. at his home at 505 N. Burrhus St. in Ottumwa. He had been in poor health for several years.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Hoyt L. Whitebread. Burial will be in Fairfield Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

AIN spent most of his life in Fairfield before moving to Ottumwa 20 years ago. He was born Nov. 2, 1888 at New Sweden, the son of August and Mary CARLSON AIN. He was married to Sylvia BRUDERS Feb. 25, 1914.

Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred HANDY, and one son, Richard R. AIN, both of Fairfield. Also surviving are three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother, Russell AIN; and one sister, Mrs. Mabel RODGERS, both of Fairfield. One brother preceded him in death.

AIN was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Note: Buried in Lot Devotion B 35 - space 1. Wife Sylvia died in 1980 and is buried beside him in space 2. On his gravestone he's noted as "C. Raymond", however the obituary refers to him as "Raymond C.".
