Greenbush—Rudolph Herrling, who was born September 18, 1845 at Saxony, Germany, passed away at his home here Saturday afternoon, December 2nd, after being an invalid several years.

He came with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Herrling to Greenbush in 1854 and in 1855 his father purchased the saw mill on the banks of the Mullet River, which was operated all the years since, until a few years back when it was torn down.

Mr. Herrling was married to Miss Caroline Schnare, August 10, 1872.

Mrs. Herrling and eight children survive. They are; Mrs. W. H. Wade, Mrs. A. E. Herges, Mrs. Gilbert Knowles, Otto. Lena and Antoinette Herrling, Plymouth. There are two surviving brothers, Theodore, Fond du Lac, and Franklin, Salem, Oregon. One brother, Richard is dead, also two sisters, Mrs. Louise Stege, Salem, Oregon, and Mrs. Adeline Bergein, Waldo.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon from the home, Rev. Schmidt, Plymouth, officiating. Hymns were sung by a quartet composed by Miss Susie Robert, Mrs. Harry Lanpheer, Rev. Mason and R. B Herrling, with Miss Harriet Keach as accompanist.
The pallbearers were two sons, Franklin and Otto Herrling and for grandsons, Ross and Rudolph Herrling and Allen and Hollis Wade. Mr. Herrling's brother, Theodore of Fond du Lac died Monday morning, December 4th.
