James (Jim) E. Huse, printer-operator, passed away at Chillicothe Hospital Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock after four months serious illness. Ward Funeral Home took the body to Rockwall Monday, former home of Mr. Huse, where last rites were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. Pallbearers for the service here were Dale Glosson, Elroy Forrester, John Holden, Johnnie Quinby, Robert Byars and Freddie Smith, who are school and team mates of his son, Billy. Mr. Huse was a faithful and steady worker at the Chillicothe Valley News for eleven years and six months. He began newspaper work 39 years ago on the Rockwall newspaper and remained there until about 13 years ago, when he went to Spur and worked with the newspaper a while before he came to Chillicothe. He was born at Kaufman September 8, 1899, and moved to Rockwall at the age of 5 with his parents, the late Mr. and Miss Addie Morris at Rockwall, July 7, 1927. To this union two children were born, Rev. James Huse of Albuquerque, N.M., and a daughtre, who died at the age of two months or shortly after the death of her mother Dec. 12, 1932. Mrs. Huse was married to Miss Maurine O'Dell at Rockwall, June 2, 1934. There are two children by this marriage, Mrs. David Bray of Altus, Okla., and Bill Huse of Chillicothe. Survivors include, besides his wife and the children mentiones above; one sister Mrs. Joe O'Dell of Rockwall; four brothers, Sam Huse of Rockwall, George Huse of Royse City, Hester Huse of Fort Worth, and Johnnie Huse of Denison; three granddaughters and one grandson.
