Daughter of Menelius Pendleton and Lorena Elizabeth McPherson Johnston, wife of Frank Dew Acree.

MULLINS - Mrs. Emma Johnston Acree, 83, widow of Frank Dew Acree, died Thursday at a Clinton nursing home.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedardale Cemetery.

Mrs. Acree was born in Blacksburg, Va., a daughter of Menelius Pendleton Johnston and and Mrs. Lorena Elizabeth McPherson. She was a member of the Macedonia Methodist Church of Mullins, a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the church's choir.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. J. M. Ford of Long Beach, N.C.; three sons, Dr. P. W. Acree of Baton Rouge, La., Jack Acree of Clinton, and Frank Dew Acree of Savannah, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Thomas Pitts of Charlotte, N.C.; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
