Ogden – Floyd Tracy McFarland Jr., 85, passed away Feb. 12, 2012 of complications due to a stroke. He was born on Nov. 18, 1926 in Ogden, Utah the son of Floyd T. and Ruth E. Bair McFarland. He graduated from Ogden High in 1944.

He married Eva J. Mecham, April 17, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a member of the Rock Cliff 7th Ward.

He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Marine Corps. He retired in 1982 from the Ogden City Fire Dept. after 30 years of service. He also retired from Defense Depot of Ogden after 16 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Eva of Ogden; sons, Rex McFarland of So. Ogden, Kent (Nadine deceased) McFarland of Riverdale, Bruce (Janice) McFarland of West Jordan; daughter, Linda (Larry) Pike of Morgan. They have 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way). He is also survived by his sister, LuJean Stuart and brothers-in-law, Carl Hodson of Marriott and Dee Bennett of Centerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Marjorie Walker and Louise Hodson; brothers-in-law, Jim Walker and Earl Stuart; step-mother, Christina McFarland; step-sister, Margaret Bennett and daughter-in-law, Nadine McFarland.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Thursday, February 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment in the Milton Cemetery in Morgan County.
