Gerald was born May 13, 1945, in Bowbells, to Harold and Alice (Zacharias) Rogers. Gerald graduated from Bowbells High School in 1964. He worked at Smiley's Jack & Jill grocery store and was the owner of Rogers Ceramics and Sundries. Gerald was also the site manager/cook for the Meals-on-Wheels in Bowbells and did catering for special occasions. Gerald lived most of his life in Bowbells.
In 2003, he moved to Mandan due to declining health. He loved to play pinochle with friends and family. He also made the best potato salad around. He liked the color blue and didn't like coconut.
Gerald is survived by his three sisters, Shirley Nelson, Sutton, Neb., Ardell Pollert, Schaumburg, Ill., and Denice (Ervin) Duevel, Melrose, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Marge Rogers, New Salem; two aunts, Dorothy Farland, Mandan, and Betty Draggoo, Detroit; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Merlin; and his brothers-in-law, Lonnie Nelson and Bruce Pollert.
Private family services will be held at a later date as cremation has taken place.
Burial will be in Bowbells Cemetery.
