William Joseph "Bill" Hanneman, 63, of Oklahoma City, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Born in Oklahoma City to Lester and Theresa Hanneman, he proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps, seeing action in the air over Vietnam. Then beginning in 1977, he continued his public service as a police officer with the Oklahoma City Police Department, retiring in 2003. Bill was a huge fan of OU Sooner football and loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed by countless loved ones and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. His survivors included his mother; his wife, Sandra Hanneman of the home; three daughters, Cynthia Sampson, Elizabeth Clarke and Kathryn Mowrer; sister, Joyce Ann Northcutt and several grandchildren. A wake service was held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012, at Saint James the Greater Catholic Church, with a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, at the same location, Rev. Bill Pruett officiating. Interment followed at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, with both OCPD Honor Guard and Marine Corps honors. Pallbearers consisted of members of the OCPD Honor Guard.
