ADELLA LORINNA MCPHERON WAS THE DAUGHTER OF FRANK AND TAMAR MCPHERON.

SHE MARRIED JAMES BERT LINKOUS 8 APR 1947 IN HAWKINS COUNTY, TENNESSEE. GOD BLESSED THIS MARRIAGE WITH THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN: MARY MADELYN, JAMES, DAVID, SAMUEL DWIGHT, RAYMOND GUY AND JERRY ANTHONY LINKOUS.

SURGOINSVILLE – Adella Lorinna Linkous, 80, of Surgoinsville went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 21, 2006 at Church Hill Health Care & Rehab Center following a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. Mrs. Linkous retired from Regency Health Care in Rogersville with 18 years of service. She belonged to the Lone Oak Home Demonstration Club for several years along with being a member of the Fairview # 80 Order of the Eastern Star in Church Hill. Adella Linkous attended Oakdale Central Baptist Church in Carters Valley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeans Bert Linkous; her parents, Frank & Tamar McPheron.

Surviving are a daughter, Madelyn Mauk & her husband, Virgil (Surgoinsville); her 5 sons, James (J. J.) Linkous & his wife, Wanda (Church Hill), David Linkous & his wife, Bonnie (Kingsport), Sam Linkous & his special friend, Hazel Morelock (Surgoinsville), Raymond Linkous & his wife, Linda (Rogersville), Jerry Linkous & his wife, Kathy (Surgoinsville); her grandchildren, Angie Fansler & her husband, Tony, Chris Mauk & his wife, April, Steven Linkous & his wife, Amber, Heather Fields & her husband, Josh, Krista Linkous, Brandon Linkous, Lisa Linkous, Melanie Linkous, Dusty Linkous, Lewis Linkous, Derik Linkous & Peggy Helton; her great grandchildren, Cole Mauk, Paige Linkous, Brandy Linkous, Casey Linkous, Walker Linkous & Hunter Helton; sisters, Norma Netherland (Surgoinsville), Juree Bass & her husband, Ralph (Surgoinsville), Margaret Allen & her husband, Jack (Stewart, TN); a brother, Tolby McPheron (Nashville, TN); a special caregiver, Velva Ryans (Church Hill) along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A very special thanks goes out to the Church Hill Health Care & Rehab Center for the love and care that they gave to Adella Lorinna Linkous. We really consider D wing nurses and the CNA s very special people!

Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2006 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Madelyn Mauk, 2022 Main Street in Surgoinsville. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother J.E. Mauk & Rev. Jerry Anderson officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chris Mauk, Steven Linkous, Brandon Linkous, Lewis Linkous, Derik Linkous & Lynn Norris. Tony Fansler, Josh Fields & Dusty Linkous will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill is serving the family of Adella Lorinna Linkous family.
