Iva G. Ritter Akins, 95, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 16, 2012. She was born May 21, 1916 and raised on Ritter Lane in Shelby County.
She was a faithful member of Grace Fellowship in Waddy.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Orbit Akins; brothers, Ralph Rene, Jessie, and Dudley Ritter and sister, Edna Ritter.
She is survived by her daughter, Edna Mae Perry, Waddy; sons, William Lee Perry, Shelbyville; Michael Keith Perry (Kathy). Frankfort; grandchildren, Chris Perry (Machelle); Michael Perry (Kelly); Patrick Perry (Stacy); great grandchildren, Brittany, Austin, Hunter, Alexis, Kaitlyn and Jacob Perry.
She was a loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and to many others. She had the love of God in her heart throughout her life.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Shannon Funeral Home with Rev. Carter Barnett and Machelle Perry officiating. Visitation will be 1-7 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
