Richard Stephenson Brown II, 63 years and 6 months of age, of Muncie, Indiana, departed this life and entered into eternal peace on Monday night, March 22nd, 1982 after he was struck by a train.
Richard was born on Sunday, September 22nd, 1918, son of the late Richard Stephenson Brown I and Minnie Evalina Wilhelm Brown. He was a native and lifelong resident of Muncie, Indiana and attended schools here. Richard retired from Warner Gear in 1972. He was a former member of UAW Local No#287. He attended McCormick Chapel and served in the United States Army during World War II.
Richard was survived by his former wife, Pearl Helen Harty Brown; three sons, Richard S. Brown III, Michael Brown, and Kenneth Brown, all of Muncie, Indiana; two daughters, Shirley "Judy" Raines of Royerton, Indiana and Patty Lee of Muncie, Indiana; one brother, Charles Carrol Brown of Muncie, Indiana; seven sisters, Donna Jean (and Jim) Washam, Nina "Lottie" Brotherton, Mary Frances "Tan" Lewis, Susan K. Lee, and Sylvia Alice (and Lloyd) Gates, all of Muncie, Indiana, Ruby June (and Leland) Slaven of Blountsville, Indiana, and Janellyne "Jane" (and Arthur) Logan of New Castle, Indiana; three grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Stephenson Brown I, who departed this life on October 30th, 1968 and Minnie Evalina Brown, who departed this life on January 13th, 1967.
Visitations were held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24th, 1982 at the Parson Mortuary in Muncie, Indiana.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 25th, 1982 in the Chapel of the Parson Mortuary.
Burial followed in the Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie, Indiana.
