Final rites were read September 24 for Dr. William E. Allen who died September 21 in McMinnville. Services were read by Rev. S. James Osborne in Macy's Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment was in the Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Allen was born November 3, 1864, in Illinois to Jesse Allen and Elizabeth Allen, deceased. On December 15, 1890, he was married to Mahala Boss. Three children were born to this union. On May 15, 1915, he was married to Mrs. Lillian Mae Anderson Devoll. She died May 29, 1944. In September, 1909, he entered Osteopathic college at Kirksville, Mo., and graduated in January, 1913. Dr. Allen followed the practice of his profession in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois He moved to Salt Lake City in 1920, and came to Oregon in 1922 locating in Willamina. He resided in McMinnville for several years and in 1943 moved to Lafayette.

Surviving are one son, Jesse Allen, Huntsville, Ill.; three stepsons, Martin Anderson, Lafayette, Charles Anderson, Portland, Lewis Anderson, Portland; one daughter Mrs. Loraine Vollmer, Fairview, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Anna V. Rusler, Watsonville, Calif. One son, Ralph Allen, died in 1926.
