Clara was the first wife of Grafton Duvall. Mother of Grafton Duvall, Jr. (b. Feb 28, 1916, in Maryland), Eleanor Jane Duvall Roy, Roxanna Bell Duvall Malarky, Mildred Linn Duvall Harwell and Claire Duvall Baird. She died in Mercy Hospital after suffering for three months from nephritis and acute uremia, leading to broncho pneumonia and was buried in Uniondale Mar 30, 1929.
Clara's husband, Grafton, was a writer and newspaper editor who eventually worked in publicity/advertising for a newspaper, he also managed a Creditors Protective Company. The Duvalls were members of Eastern Star and Masons. They traveled frequently between Baltimore and Pittsburgh, having a number of relatives and social contacts in both cities, maintaining a directory listing in Baltimore, where Grafton's father, Dr. Wirt Adams Duvall, was a physician.
Services for Clara's funeral were conducted in the family home, in Beechview, however, notice of her death was published as far away as the Indiana, PA, newspaper as the family was also well known in that area.
