In the early 1970's, Helen invited her aunt Rachel Leggett to visit her in California. Rachel, who had travelled as a youngster from Missouri to Kansas by covered wagon, hopped on a plane and flew to California. I remember Grandma Rachel telling about this trip: the Kansas farm girl's first dip in the ocean, oranges fresh off the tree, and other sightseeing they did. What a sweet thing Helen did for her aunt Rachel and I have always thought well of her for it.
