He was born Nov. 28, 1982, in Anchorage, Alaska, and was a resident of Ventura County for 26 years. Othon was a United States Air Force veteran, serving for nine years and six months. He attended Oxnard College, was a Hueneme High graduate, and enjoyed playing and watching baseball and soccer.
Othon is survived by his mother, Mayra Martinez; father, Othon Martinez; brother, Christian Martinez; sister, Ashley Martinez; nephew, Michael O. Rios, all of Oxnard; brother, James Martinez; niece Myley Martinez; and sister-in-law, Deanna Martinez, all of Smartsville, Calif. He is also survived by four aunts, six uncles, one grandmother, 35 cousins, two great-aunts and one great-uncle.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, at Funeraria Del Angel Conrad's and James Reardon, 401 West Channel Islands Blvd., Oxnard, CA, 93033. Rosary will be recited from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, also at Funeraria Del Angel Conrad's and James Reardon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, and burial will be at Santa Clara Cemetery.
