Edmund was the son of Peter and Mary (Hubley) Larsen, his father was from Denmark and his mother was Alaskan. Edmund was raised in Unga Village, Unga Island, Shumagin Islands, Alaska. He had 11 siblings: Zenia, Grace, Alice, Peter II, James, Emily, Peter III, Gladys, Norman, Clara and Elisabeth. They were all raised in Unga Village and attended the local school.

Edmond moved to Washington State where he met and married Ruby, they had no children. Edmund was employed in the plywood industry, he was a shareholder of the Mt. Baker Plywood Co. He was also a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, Pile Drivers Union Local No 1824 and the Fisherman's Union.

Edmund was survived by his brothers, Peter of Bellingham, Washington and James of Bellevue, Washington; sisters, Grace Braun of Petaluma, California, Gladys Hatch of Martinez, California, Elisabeth McIntire of San Francisco, California, Zenia Foster of Seward, Alaska, Alice Nutbeem of Seldovia, Alaska, and Clara Oaks of Bellingham, Washington.

Edmund is interred at Greenacres Memorial Park, Ferndale, Whatcom County, Washington.
