BEAVER – Benjamin K. Banks, 80, lifetime resident of Minersville, died Tuesday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Richard R. Thomas, at Beaver, where he was visiting. He had been in ill health for several years.
Five sons and daughters survive: Mrs. Uzeli R. Thomas and Mrs. Althea Gale, Beaver: Mrs. Della Allison, Eureka: Mrs. Leo Lewis, Compton, Calif, and Karl Banks, Minersville, 25 granchildren and 10 great grandchildren, a brother and sister, John Banks, Minersville and Mrs. Mae Craw, Pioche, Nev.

Minersville Man Dies at Beaver

Benjamin F. Banks, 80, life-time resident of Minersville, died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Richard R. Thomas, at Beaver, where he was visiting. He had been in ill health several years.

He was born November 30, 1863, a son of Joseph and Charlotte Eyre Banks. He married Emma Vincent in the Manti L.D.S. temple. She died 39 years ago.

In his younger life he was a brick manufacturer, making bricks for many buildings standing throughout Beaver county today. He also engaged in farming and gardening.

He has 11 grandsons in the armed forces, nine overseas.

Five sons and daughters survive: Mrs. Uzell R. Thomas and Mrs. Altheda Gale, Beaver; Mrs. Della Allison, Eureka; Mrs. Leo Lewis, Compton, California, and Karl Banks, Minersville; 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grand children; and a brother and sister, John Banks, Minersville and Mrs. Mae Craw, Pioche, Nevada.

Funeral services are being conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Minersville L.D.S. chapel by Delos Baker, bishop. Burial will take place in the Minersville cemetery.
