Lewis E. Bruton, 93, died February 15, 2012. Mr. Bruton was one of 4 sons of A. L. Bruton and Mabel Gene Bruton. He was a native of Jacksonville, Florida and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the North Jacksonville Baptist Church and had retired from Carpenters Local #627. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. #6922 and a longtime member of the American Legion Post #9.
Mr. Bruton was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years the late Elouise K. Bruton. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Evie Bruton; a number of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206, with Rev. Grant Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors.
