Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service, Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at 2 p.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church, Johns Island, S.C. Burial: Churchyard. Friends may call today between the hours of four and six at J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel.
Mrs. Walpole was born Aug. 28, 1907, in Jacksonville, Fla., daughter of James Rembert and Laura Dotterer Hill. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Johns Island.
Mrs. Walpole received E.C.W. Woman of the Year award Diocese of S.C., served as secretary at St. John's High School and St. John's Episcopal Church. She was active in Diocesan Youth Work. She was an accomplished artist.
She is survived by one son, H. Benjamin Walpole Jr. of Johns Island; two daughters, Laura Walpole Dixon of Summerville, and Adelaide "Scooty" Walpole Burch of Clemson; 11 grandchildren, Anne, Philip and Ben Dixon, Katherine Monroe, H.B. Walpole III, Calhoun Perkins, Guilford Walpole, Gregory and Christopher Burch, Julia Jackson and Catherine Smith; 11 great-grandchildren and one brother, James Rembert Hill of Largo, Fla. She was predeceased by her sister, Laura Dotterer Hill.
