A former Capitol Heights (Md.) town councilman and for 46 years, a salesman for Singer Sewing machines. He retired in 1940 just as the factory was converted for war production, long after coming to Washington, D.C. in 1894 to start work with the firm.
He was a charter member and treasurer of the Capitol Heights volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving him (besides his wife) were son Howard and 3 daughters; Ethel, Irene, and Cecile.
