"Granny Mae" married James Charles in 1907 and they moved to McMinnville, TN, in the 1930's. For several years, she and her youngest child, Ethel Mae Dell, lived together in a rental house on Sparta Street; but she died while visiting a son, James Edwin Powell, in Tullahoma, TN. Lillie Mae, like her children, loved gardening. Lillie Mae and James Charles went by buggy to Collinsville, AL, and caught a train to Trenton, GA, where they were married.
