DEATH OF MRS. S. A. DAVID
Mrs. Sarah A. David died at her home in Larned Thursday night, Dec. 16. The funeral was held at the Methodist church, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. B. Barton. Interment was in Larned cemetery.
Sarah A. Baldwin was born in Big Mound, Iowa, Feb. 28, 1847, and died at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 18 days. She was married to David W. Collins, Dec. 10, 1868. Mr. Collins lived but a short time, leaving her a widow with a little boy.
She was married to John T. David, Dec. 5, 1877. Four children were born to this union, one son and three daughters. The son died when 11 years old. Mr. David died over twenty years ago. The deceased leaves one son, Charles Collins, three daughters, her sister, Mrs. W. P. Griffith, and her brother, Thos. Baldwin, all living in this county.
Mrs. David was a member of the Methodist church from childhood. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of their friends and neighbors.
Note: Big Mounds was a small village in Cedar Township, Lee County, Iowa and was abandoned long ago.
